Andrew Turczak
(Speaker) Andrew Turczak MBA, MHS, PA-C serves as the Vice President of the Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute (COI) which includes oversight of both the MidState and St. Vincent’s Medical Center campuses of Hartford Healthcare. Prior to his current role, Andrew was named Senior Director of COI in 2019 and led the development of its second location at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He also served as the Executive Director of Perioperative Services at ST. Vincent’s Medical Center from 2020-2022. Since stepping into the role of Vice President, he is responsible for COI’s operational and quality success in its entirety. Since its inception in 2017, the program has grown by more than 400% in surgical volume, ranked greater than the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction, and has earned multiple Joint Commission Advance Certifications including being the first in the country to earn the Advance Spine Certification. Andrew has been practicing as a physician assistant for over 15 years in emergency medicine and orthopaedics. He is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA), Connecticut Academy of Physician Associates (ConnAPA), and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He is a Past President of the Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants (ConnAPA). Andrew performed his undergraduate training at Quinnipiac University graduating summa cum laude and earning his Bachelor of Science in 2007. He continued his education at Quinnipiac earning his Master of Heath Science degree in 2009 in physician assistant studies and finally his MBA in healthcare administration in 2018.
